1. Brazil — What country has the most rainforest acres in the world? Brazil does! It’s home to the Atlantic Forest and the Amazon rainforests. The Amazon is the world’s largest and most species rich rainforest  representing over half of all the rainforest acres remaining worldwide. It spans nine countries and has over 1.4 billion acres. Over 60% of the Amazon is located in northern Brazil. Recently, Brazil has taken important steps to protect its rainforests, but increased worldwide demand for Brazil’s agricultural goods has brought roads and increased deforestation. Conservation International recently met with the president of Brazil and is working closely with the government to protect more acres of the Amazon.
