28. Penguins — How can saving acres of rainforests help penguins? As global warming reduces ice cover in the Antarctic, penguins' homes are disappearing! The most effective way to combat global warming is to save acres of rainforests! There are 17 species of penguins, 10 of which are considered endangered or threatened.  Since penguins are virtually free of land predators, they are very curious and playful. Not only can they be seen sliding on their bellies along ice and snow, but they love to dive off cliffs and ice flows into the water, hop back up and dive down again - line-ups for good diving spots can get long!
